Keeping your FindMe powered

The Tag takes a replaceable coin cell. The Card recharges wirelessly. Find yours below — most trackers that "stop working" are simply out of power.

Replacing the cell — about a minute

  1. Unclip. Slide the key supplied with your Tag into the small opening on the edge and lever gently until the two halves separate.
  2. Remove. Lift the back off and slide the old CR2032 out.
  3. Fit. Insert a fresh CR2032 with the + marking facing up, towards the back cover. Press until it sits flat.
  4. Snap shut. Line the back up with the front and press around the edge until it clicks closed. Most tags chime once. Reopen Find My or Google Find Hub and check it reports in — no need to pair again.

Keep the key with your spare batteries — it is the only tool the Tag needs.

FindMe Card
Rechargeable

FindMe Card

Power Built-in, sealed
Per charge Up to 5 months
Charges by Qi / MagSafe

Recharging — no battery to buy

  1. Do not open it. The Card is sealed and 1.7 mm thin. There is no coin cell inside and nothing to prise apart.
  2. Place it on a wireless charger. Any Qi pad or MagSafe puck works. Take it out of the wallet first and centre it on the coil.
  3. Leave it to charge. Metal cardholders and thick wallets block wireless charging, so charge the Card on its own.
  4. Confirm. Open Find My and check the Card is reporting in again. A full charge lasts up to five months of normal use.

No key, no tools, nothing to use — the Card recharges like a phone.

Stopped appearing? Power first. Fit a fresh cell, or charge the Card, before assuming a fault.
Sound faint or silent? A weak cell is the usual cause. Replace it and test Play Sound again.
